Zen privileges pure act and direct action. The inexpressible nothing in
zen, the “mu”, is something really dynamic, the germ status
of everything, everything’s container. Zen aims at Satori,
a kind of enlightenment leading to a higher consciousness. Emptiness and
Satori are two complementary concepts. The first is fundamentally intended
as renouncing the world, while Satori proposes an active and aware partecipation
to it. Zen prefers activity to any intellectual speculation. There are
different ways to obtain Satori. One of these is zazen,
sitting meditation, a cushion called “zafu” is used to sit
on, with particular hands position and breathing at a regular rhythm. The
word is formed by “za”, which means sitting, and “zen” which
means to meditate. Another way is kin-hin, walking meditation.
According to this philosophy, we can create ikebana flower design and a
special atmosphere using incense for your ceremony and reception.
